West Texas Food Bank Groundbreaking for 56,000-sf Facility
ODESSA – Serving 19 counties and about 75,000 people a year in West Texas, the West Texas Food Bank has become a necessity and to keep up with demand, the organization will formally break ground on a new 56,000-sf facility in Odessa on June 11.
The new Odessa center will serve as the distribution center and will include a full kitchen. The building will be designed with moving walls to ensure enough space is available at any given time.
A capital campaign was started with a goal of $12.7 million to make the new facilities a reality and $11.1 million has been raised so far.
West Texas Food Bank distributes about 4 million pounds of food per year and has been operating for 30 years.
